Time Has A Mind Of It's Own ©2008 writers: Craig Gleason/ Mark Waldron
The summers were hot the river was cold, thought we’d live forever and never grow old
We swore to each other with our spit and blood, more than friends we were brothers
And nothing would separate us
WE ALWAYS THOUGHT WE HAD CONTROL
OVER HOW OUR LIVES WERE GONNA GO
BUT THOSE WINDS OF CHANGE, MAN, HOW THEY BLOW
UNPREDICTABLE, BUT NOW WE KNOW
TIME HAS A MIND OF IT’S OWN
A few years later Billy moved away, his daddy got a job in the city for better pay
Then Skeeter started hangin’ out on the wrong side of town
And Jimmy he found Jesus and just stopped comin’ around
(bridge)
Another year another page, all the lines gets erased
Leavin’ only memories of dreams that escaped
Lost the plans we had, all the seeds we’d sown
We soon found out and now we know, time has a mind of it’s own
(bridge 2)
Every step of the way we thought we were in control
Plannin’ our lives and how they were gonna go
But the winds of change all started to blow
We found out a little late but now we know
Time has a mind of it’s own
Time has a mind of it’s own
Time has a mind of it’s own
Time has a mind of it’s own
